Stop Before You Go – Pokémon Go!

You might be living under a rock if… you haven’t heard about Pokémon Go.

If you’re on the app, you know how addictive it can be. And if you’re not a part of the Pokémon craze, well maybe don’t start.

The good news is, there are so many more reported exercisers because of Pokémon Go. Moms all over are ever-so-grateful to this new Nintendo game for finally getting their kids up and out! By the way, have you seen that video of the flocks of people at Central Park trying to catch little Pokemon on their screens? It is a surreal video and definitely worth a check.

Thanks to Pokémon Go, people are actually doing more exercise than they have in years, and are also exploring their cities like they never have before. But, and the big but is that there is also a spike in unfocused drivers. Pokémon obsessed players have also been falling off cliffs and trespassing private property and dangerous areas.

In Clarksville Tennessee, the APSU construction sites had to be temporarily closed and its entrances guarded! We all know that there ain’t no entering a construction site without a hard hat and necessary personal protection equipment. But Pokémon Go players are too focused on their PokéStops to care.

We’ve heard the good, the bad and the ugly of this more-than-viral game. Pikachu, a species of Pokémon, is waiting to be found all over the globe. So when you go get ‘em just make sure you stay aware of your surroundings. Or just buy a hard hat and some other PPE. 😉  Choice is yours!
